Back 'on the bus' today to go to Ireland.
Chester to Holyhead (the ferry departure point) was 1.45 hours' drive, then 3.5 hours on the car ferry (despite my fears, no seasickness thank goodness). Once the ferry arrived in Dublin we had a 1 hour drive to our base for 2 nights here in Dundalk.
We had a minor detour to Llandudno on the way to the ferry departure point. I had planned a stop but apparently there was only time for a drive around and back again. Looks like a pretty place, big pebble beach, lovely buildings, steep hills with a view, a tramway, a sky gondola ... worth putting on the itinerary for a visit another time.
